The local church often serves as the center of life in Haitian villages, providing spiritual nourishment and critical social services. Stone of Help provides pastoral oversight and ministry training to these community churches and church leaders in Haiti. Our aim is to teach and unify this network of churches in sound Biblical doctrine. It is our desire to raise up healthy and well-balanced churches through prayer, praise, and proclamation of God’s Word, the Bible.
Improvements in local churches represent the growing spiritual health of the community. Stone of Help will continue partnering with local Christian leaders to impact communities via the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As God’s people, we are commanded to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, …” Matthew 28:19a. This passage of Scripture is commonly referred to as “The Great Commission.” This would include a dedication to evangelism, whether it’s across the street or across the seas. But, the real emphasis here is on Christian Discipleship. When you think about it, Jesus never referred to His words in Matthew’s gospel as “The Great Commission.” Of course, there’s a “greatness” to everything Jesus commands. However, what we refer to as “great” might be better understood as something quite “ordinary” that the true follower of Christ Jesus has the “great” privilege of carrying-out. That is why Stone of Help Haiti places Christian Discipleship at the heart of everything we purpose to do in Jesus’ Name.
